چکیده

Experimental and simulation studies have been realized to quantify the potential of migration to improve performance over the initial placement. In these studies, we tried to characterize the conditions under which this improvement can be obtained. We found that these conditions are strictly related to the heterogeneity of the task execution time and sometimes they are related to the number of hosts available and their relative speed. The various measures carried out show that the additional improvement is between 15% and 30%, and rarely attains 35%. In addition, we found that the placement algorithm is more adaptive to the applications and environments connguration than the migration algorithm.

Accurate power sharing for parallel DGs in microgrid with various-type loads

Microgrids are nowadays used to produce electric energy with more efficiency and advantage. However, the use of microgrids presents some challenges. One of the main problems of the microgrids widely used in electrical power systems is the control of voltage, frequency and load sharing balance among inverter- based distributed generators (DGs) in islanded mode. Droop method performance degra...

Voltage Control and Load Sharing in a DC Islanded Microgrid Based on Disturbance Observer

Increasing DC loads along with DC nature of distributed energy resources (DERs) raises interest to DC microgrids. Conventional droop/non-droop power-sharing in microgrids suffers from load dependent voltage deviation, slow transient response, and requires the parameters of the loads, system and DERs connection status. In this paper, a new nonlinear decentralized back-stepping control strategy f...

A Simulation Study of Epoch Load Sharing in Distributed Systems

This paper examines load sharing in distributed systems. It proposes a special load-sharing method, referred to as epoch load sharing. With this policy, load is evenly distributed among distributed processors , with job migration only at the end of predefined intervals. The time interval between successive load sharing is called an epoch. The authors compare the performance of epoch job migrati...
